BASEBALL HITS OUT IN SPONSORSHIP PUSH
2 Rhag 2008
The traditional sport of Welsh baseball is launching a campaign to raise sponsorship for next season.
The Welsh Baseball Union (WBU) is seeking financial support to maintain its youth development programme, administer its league and cup competitions, and finance the Wales international teams.
"The money we are looking for is very small compared with the professional sports, but we believe we can offer sponsors a great deal for their money," said WBU chairman Ken Gough.
Sponsorship packages begin at £100 and go up to £3000 for title sponsorship of the league.
The WBU has brought in a partnership of Cardiff-based Weltch Media and London-based Code 13 Sports Media to produce a sponsorship brochure, covering the sport’s heritage and appeal, and outlining the sponsorship packages.
"The brochure reflects our sport very well – all-action, community-based and exciting to play and watch," added Ken Gough.
Copies of the brochure can be downloaded from the Welsh baseball website at www.welshbaseball.co.uk and are also available from Weltch Media on 07890 288302.
The Welsh Baseball Union was founded in 1892 and runs the three-division men’s league and youth competitions, as well as the Wales national teams, which are also available for sponsorship.
